Jira is affected by an Authentication Bypass vulnerability, located the Jira Seraph component which is the core authentication mechanism of Jira. The root cause of this vulnerability is the inconsistency inside the functions of the Seraph filter which performs a bad authorization action request resulting in a bypass of the required roles for the Jira plugins.

The risk exists that a remote unauthenticated attacker can fully compromise the Jira Server to steal confidential information, install ransomware, or pivot to the internal network.
