Vulnerability description

HTTP File Server is prone to a remote command execution (RCE) vulnerability.

Risk description

The flaw is due to an improper neutralization of Null byte or NUL character Successful exploitation will allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code by uploading a file with certain invalid UTF-8 byte sequences that are interpreted as executable macro symbols.

Recommendation

No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
